Massacre in Bangladesh
On August 5, 2024, following a major political shift, an interim government led by Dr. Yunus
assumed power. Since then, the law-and-order situation in the country has drastically
deteriorated. These incidents are largely attributed to state-sponsored actions by the
unregistered student party National Citizens Party (NCP), along with Jamaat-e-Islami and the
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
On year of Anarchy
From August 2024 to June 2025, Bangladesh witnessed a disturbing surge in hate crimes targeting religious minorities. More than 2,442 incidents including murders, sexual violence, arson attacks, and destruction of places of worship have been documented by national and international human rights organizations.
